Detailed Rules

Objectives Maintain the lowest score of any player Have the lowest score when the game ends
Basic Scoring Any picture card is worth 10 Number cards are worth their number Ace is 1 Joker is 0!
Starting the game For more than 6 players it's sensible to use a second deck of cards Everybody gets dealt 5 cards each. Make sure to include the jokers in the pack whilst dealing The remaining cards get placed in the middle of the table, ready to start the game. Once everyone is ready, turn over the top card to begin Once everyone has seen their cards and is ready, turn over the top card to begin To start the game at round 1, the player to the left of the dealer goes first. Once gameplay has begun, whoever won the last round gets to go first in the next round The player to go first has to put down a card(s) and can then pick up either the one that's been turned over, or a card from the top of the pile
Game Play You are allowed to put down any card you like from your hand on your turn You can put down multiple of the same card down on your turn You can put down a run of 3 in the same suit on your turn. Leave the card with the highest score on the top - this may be picked up by the next player You must always put down your card(s) before you pick up If any ANY point during play you can make a pile of 3 (or more) of the same card, you are allowed to do so. e.g. if you have a pair of 9s, and there's a 9 on the pile, you can instanly put them down. When this happens right before your go, you can pick up whatever just went down, as it was not your go If you pick up the same card that you just put down, you can instantly discard it, as long as no one else has put down in the mean time. You must be given the opportunity to see the card you've picked up before play continues, else this rule cannot be enforced Shooting the moon: If someone calls "Unicornification" and you're holding 5 picture cards(J/Q/K), you get -50 points. The person who called Unicornification gets the points in their hand, and you get to go first in the next round
Ending and scoring a round You can end the round once you have 7 points or fewer in your hand by calling "Unicornification" when it's the start ofyour turn When someone calls "Unicornification" the round ends immediately and everyone shows their hand The person who has the lowest score when "Unicornification" is called wins the round and gets 0 points Everyone else receives the score of their hand If you have the same score as the lowest person, you still get that score (i.e. you don't also get 0) If you call "Unicornification" but someone else has a lower score, you get a booby prize of 25 points! If your cards get collected before you've counted your score, you get a 40 point penalty The person with the highest score for that round has to shuffle and deal the next round If two people have the joint-highest score, whoever scored higher in the previous round has to shuffle
